We have a very large range of cargo e‑bikes available to test ride and purchase. Our consultations give families the chance to become familiar with how these bikes work, best practices for carrying extra weight, and an opportunity to compare different motor options. It’s the best way to make the right decision, as power and weight distribution vary between models — different strokes for different folks!
Allow around an hour for your visit so you can test ride a good range of bikes. We’ve also created an extended video guide covering all the main things to consider when buying a cargo e‑bike, along with a summary of all our brands. We sell the largest range of cargo electric bikes by a city mile — check it out before you visit!
🚀 Which Motor? Mid‑Drive Options
Most of our range is equipped with mid‑drive motors, as these provide excellent weight distribution with the motor low and centred in the frame, giving the bike a feel that’s closer to a standard bicycle. Mid‑drive motors also make more efficient use of your pedalling effort, as they’re designed to work with the bike’s gears, giving you better range, especially on big climbs.
One thing to note is that chain and cassette wear can be higher on a mid‑drive system unless the rider adjusts their pedalling technique when shifting under heavy load. On some systems (like Bosch and Impulse), the motor briefly cuts power during shifting, but you should still ease off your pedal stroke before changing gears to avoid harsh, clunky shifts and reduce the chance of damage.
🚲 Why Test Ride?
It’s very hard to know which motor or bike style is right for your experience and budget until you’ve actually ridden them. That’s why we encourage you to visit us and ride a range of cargo e‑bikes in person — it’s the best way to feel the differences and find your perfect match.
